This is the privacy policy for billmckibbin.com and the Bill McKibbin reader mailing list. The short version: the only personal information collected here is the email address you choose to give, it is used only to send you the books and newsletters you asked for, and it is never sold.
What is collected
When you sign up for the mailing list — on this site or on a book-delivery page — you provide your email address (and optionally your name). That's the extent of it. This site has no user accounts, takes no payments, and asks for nothing else.
How it's used
Your email address is used to deliver the free books you request, to send a short welcome series about the world of the Chronicles, and to send an occasional newsletter — roughly monthly, sometimes less. The newsletter sometimes includes recommendations of books by other fantasy authors I think you'll enjoy (and other authors may recommend mine to their own readers). Those are always my words, in my emails — your address itself is never sold, rented, or given to anyone else.
Services that process your email
Two services do the technical work, and each handles your address only to do its job:
MailerLite stores the mailing list and sends the emails (their privacy policy). BookFunnel delivers the ebooks and audiobooks to your device (their privacy policy).
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Its host (GitHub Pages) may keep standard technical server logs, such as IP addresses, for security. Emails sent to the list may include standard open- and click-tracking through MailerLite, which helps me know what readers actually enjoy.
Leaving, and your rights
Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and it works the first time. If you'd like your data corrected or deleted entirely — or a copy of what's held, which will be your email address and not much else — write to [email protected] and it will be handled promptly.
Children
This site and list are not directed at children under 13, and no information from children is knowingly collected.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Material changes to how your email is used will be announced to the list before they happen.
